About the City

Park City stretches two miles from end to end and contains more than 7,300 year-round residents. Today Summit County is home to more than 31,000 residents. Winter ski conditions in Park City are optimum with approximately 300 inches of snowfall a year, and with highs in the 34-25 F. range - lows in the teens. History of the Town

Park City was founded in 1869 as a silver mining town dotted with just a handful of homesteads. Within a few decades it grew to become a thriving community of almost 10,000 residents and plenty of pubs to boot. Having boasted the second largest silver boom in the U.S., with collieries owned by famous mining tycoon George Hearst, by the early 1900s the area became one of the fasting growing counties in the U.S.

Getting to and around in Park City, Utah is a cinch. The town is only 36 miles from the Salt Lake International Airport, which serves more than 800 flights daily. Located in the northeast region of Utah in the western point of Summit County, Park City sits 30 miles east of Salt Lake City, 6 miles south of Interstate 80.
